It is a silicone mineral of the Quartz family, which belongs to the tectosilicate group. It is characterized by the trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Its color is due to the presence of trivalent iron. Citrine can be found in many countries, including Brazil, Madagascar, Russia and Kazakhstan.
