STONE DETAILS

The name is derived from the Greek word “blood”, due to the red coloration that some varieties of Hematite exhibit. It is a mineral of iron with a chemical molecular formula Fe2O3 , characterized by a hardness of 5-6.5 on the Mohs scale and a triangular crystallization system. Hematite can be found in several countries, some of which are Brazil, Australia, USA and New Zealand.
