Chrysocolla:
Chrysocolla takes its name from the two Greek words “chryso” and “kolla”, because it bears a strong resemblance to the substance used to solder gold in ancient times. Chrysocolla is a hydrated aluminum, copper silicate mineral which is characterized by the orthorhombic crystal system and the hardness of 2-4 on the Mohs scale. Chrysocolla can be found in different countries, some of which are Chile, the USA, Russia, England, Peru, Australia, Congo, Israel and Mexico.

Pearl:
The word ‘Pearl’ originates from the ancient Greek word ‘margarites,’ which comes from the verb ‘marmairos’ meaning ‘to shine’ or ‘to glow’. Pearls are formed within mollusks, which secrete a substance (nacre) to protect themselves from foreign bodies or irritants that enter the shell. The mollusk envelops the irritant in layers of nacre, a combination of calcium carbonate and organic compounds, eventually forming a pearl. Pearls are characterized by their unique crystalline structure and are made of aragonite (a form of calcium carbonate). They generally have a hardness of 2.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale.
