STONE DETAILS

The name of this mineral derives from the Latin “aqua-marina” which means salt water, due to its colour. It is a Crystalline Silica and belongs to the Beryl family. It is characterized by the hexagonal crystal system and the hardness of 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale.  Aquamarine can be found in various countries including Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.
