STONE DETAILS

Chrysocolla takes its name from the two Greek words “chryso” and “colla”, because it bears a strong resemblance to the substance used to solder gold in ancient times. Chrysocolla is a hydrated aluminum, copper silicate mineral which is characterized by the orthorhombic crystal system and the hardness of 2-4 on the Mohs scale. Chrysocolla can be found in different countries, some of which are Chile, the USA, Russia, England, Peru, Australia, Congo, Israel and Mexico.
