STONE DETAILS
Its name derives from the Molina de Aragon region of Spain, where this mineral was first described. Aragonite belongs to the category of carbonate minerals and its formula is calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is characterized by the orthorhombic crystal system and the hardness of 3.5-4 on the Mohs scale. Apart from Spain, Aragonite can be found in Austria, Mexico, Austria, Chile, Greece, Slovakia, the USA and Italy.
