It is a silicon mineral, that belongs to the group of the tectosilicate minerals. Crystal quartz is characterized by the trigonal/hexagonal crystal system and the hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Crystal Quartz can be found in various countries, including Brazil, the USA, Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
