STONE DETAILS
Fuchsite is named after the German mineralogist and chemist Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs. It is a chromium (Cr) rich variety of muscovite, belonging to the mica family and the group of phyllosilicate minerals. Its distinctive green colour is due to the presence of chromium, ranging from pale green to emerald green. Fuchsite is characterized by the monoclinic crystal system and the hardness of 2-3 on the Mohs scale. This mineral has been found in different countries such as India, Australia, the USA, South Africa, Brazil, Zimbabwe and Russia.
