STONE DETAILS

Its name is derived from the Greek word “Τopazios”, which was the ancient name of Zabargad Island in the Red Sea. This island once used to produce Peridot, which was confused with the Topaz. Topaz is an aluminum silicate mineral with a chemical composition of Al₂SiO₄(F,OH)₂ and it occurs in nature in various colors such as yellow, orange, blue, pink, red, brown, green and colorless. It is characterized by the orthorhombic crystal system and the hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale. Sources of topaz include Brazil, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, Namibia, Madagascar, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Russia and the USA.
