STONE DETAILS

The name carnelian originates from the Latin “Caro” which means “flesh”due t the reddish/brown colouring. This stone belongs to the Quartz family, and is a silicone Dioxide with trace elements of iron ore. It is characterized by the Trigonal crystal system and the hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale. Carnelian can be obtained in different countries, some of  which are Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Germany and India.

This stone provides grounding, and encourages productivity. It repels feelings of fear,  sadness, and exasperation.
