STONE DETAILS

The name “moonstone” was given to this mineral because it appears a floating light, which resembles the glow of the moon through a thin cloud cover. Moonstone is a silicate mineral with the hardness of 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale and it can occur in different colors such as white, grey, peach and green. Moonstone is derived from various countries, including Sri Lank, Brazil, Australia, the USA, India and Madagascar.
