STONE DETAILS

The Origin of the word Sodalite, derives from its chemical composition due to its sodium content. It is a silicate mineral with a chemical composition of Na₄Al₃Si₃O₁₂Cl and it is a member of the feldspathoid tectosilicate mineral group. Its colour ranges from light to dark blue with white patches. It is characterized by the cubic crystal system and the hardness of 5.5-6 on the Mohs scale. Sodalite can be found in many different countries, including India, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada and the USA.
